Quest plot
The plot of the quest in the forest with the search for treasure is based on the theme of children's outdoor recreation. Participants in the quest will have to solve tasks of medium difficulty with various forest-themed puzzles.◊ Beginning of the quest: We recommend starting the quest in the forest with the children finding an old wallet with a small amount of money, a pencil and a map on which the text is written: “If according to the map This way, secret treasures can be found." After deciphering the map, children learn the name of the next hiding place - “bottle”. The next hiding place can be played with using a glass bottle and a cork. Roll the next task card into a tube, place it in a glass bottle and cap it. The bottle itself can be buried nearby so that only the neck sticks out of the ground. Each time, playing out a new quest cache in this way, children will be delighted with such an unforgettable adventure in the forest.
Where to hide the next hints and tasks
In other words, I will briefly list WHICH WORDS we will encrypt most often. You can, of course, just tell the children that the key to the chest with gifts is hidden somewhere in the room, and they will rummage through the whole room for you. The essence of the quest is to take turns guessing the places in which new passwords, scrolls, and objects are hidden.
These are the places:
• furniture (the answer to the riddle should be: table, chair, chest of drawers, window, etc.) • sofa cushions • household appliances (microwave, refrigerator, washing machine, bread maker, oven, etc.) • “under the carpet » • interior items (vases, boxes, caskets, chests, paintings, etc.) • magnets and souvenirs from different countries with the name of the city written on them • multi-volume collected works (guess the volume number and pick up the clue there) • mailbox ( it’s incredibly exciting to go down to the first floor and open your box with a key when it comes to the last hint about gifts) • suitcases and briefcases with combination locks
Other caches can be like this:
• a bottle (even if it floats in a bathtub, which is not the sea) • balloons (they need to burst, naturally) • ice figures (in the New Year's quest I froze water in rubber gloves and balls, I got a whole basin of ice blocks of different shapes. For the sake of getting a hint the children defrosted it all under the tap in the sink) • a box of sand in which you need to find small objects • candies in wrappers • cookies with hints / fortunes (here is the recipe on my website) • jars for storing bulk products • pots with live plants • dishes on the festive table (you can attach a hint to the bottom of the plates)
Task 8
Guardian: “Yes, you completed the task, I will leave the drawing on the cabinet so that the ghost can see the correct answer. While you were drawing, the Ghost left a video message for you!”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMGQJbF680A
There the Ghost says the following text: “You have already come a long way... But I’m so sad... I love tongue twisters. I love it very much! Take turns climbing onto a chair and reading the tongue twisters for me. Expressive. And dress up so I can really have fun
Only then will I allow you to continue your search for the important envelope."
Children read tongue twisters. You can give out all sorts of funny ears, noses, and wigs. I recommend filming it, you’ll laugh again later.
The tongue twisters themselves are in the same folder (task 7).
You can make the video yourself. I hung a garland with light bulbs on my 16-year-old daughter and covered her with a tablecloth. They filmed it in complete darkness and voiced it in a special program. My daughter hissed, and I read the text.
Tasks for an adult quest on the street
An interesting outdoor quest is fun entertainment not only for children, but also for adults. It is not necessary to come up with complex rebuses, puzzles and tasks. Adults will be happy to plunge into childhood and look for clues in hiding places, while solving simple riddles or putting together puzzles.
The tasks for the game can be adapted to the theme of the quest, made more difficult or, conversely, made as simple as possible.
- Write letters on balloons and fill the veranda or gazebo with balloons. Participants must use letters to form a clue word that will lead them to the hiding place.
- Take a photo of the place where the next clue will be located (gazebo, bench, well, playground, etc.). Print the photo, cut it into squares, and you have a puzzle. You can ask two teams to quickly assemble a picture.
- Attach the QR code to the inside of a bench, a tree trunk, or to the bottom of a bucket in a well. Using a special application on your smartphone, you can scan the code and get another hint.
- Compose a hint phrase in a mirror version. Participants must first find a mirror and then use it to read the phrase.
- Encrypt the hint using any font. You can use famous dancing men, emoticons, Morse code, and a number font (in which each letter is assigned a number).
- Active competition - moving on barrels. Place a sheet of plywood or board on 4 plastic barrels. 4 participants climb onto a homemade raft. Two players push off with sticks, the raft moves forward, while the last barrel must be placed forward so that you can move on.
- Participants are given two sofa cushions. Players must overcome the distance, while only stepping on pillows.
- Blindfolded, participants taste drinks and must guess what they are offered to drink.
- Using a powerful magnet, players must retrieve coins from the bottom of the lake.
- The ending of the quest can be made bright and spectacular. For example, all participants write their wishes on balloons and release them into the sky. Or they use a metal detector to find a hidden chest of gifts.
Task 9
The keeper pours out a lot of balls from a bag (you can use a 120-liter garbage bag): “This is for fun! But the Ghost gives these balls for a reason! One of them contains a hint!”
The names of famous composers will be written on a piece of paper made from a balloon. And only one of them is not a composer: Vivaldi, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin, Liszt, Brahms, Albinoni, Boccherini, Brahms, Vivaldi, Shishkin, Glinka, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Rachmaninov, Strauss.
Guardian: “Did you find it? Artist Shishkin? Great! Find his painting in the room."
I had a small framed reproduction of Shishkin’s painting “Rye” in my house. You can print any picture from the Internet and temporarily insert it into a photo frame. The frame needs to be disassembled; children are happy to bend the metal holders. Under the cardboard is a new task!
How to use these sample quest assignments
These ideas are for creative people. Such people read the description of the quest task, and suddenly come up with something completely new. They don’t just change words and pictures, but create a new puzzle that suddenly “flies” into your head. There is even a book, “Steal Like an Artist.” Look for the old, make your own arrangement, create something new, passing through the experience of your predecessors.
The cheat sheet contains examples of collective collecting and my personal “arrangements.” Use, inspire, create.
Let me remind you that all this is suitable for those who conduct quests for their children or students. There will also be something useful for professional presenters, but you need to use real game props.

KidsVisitor also asked Questoria about how game scripts are created. Each story is written for almost six months, then tested in several cities. And if during the quest at least one character becomes not interested enough in the 2nd hour of the game, then the script is changed and modified.
Make sure that your next birthday, holiday or just a weekend turns into a true adventure. And let your child become the hero of a magical story!
