Patriotic education of preschool children through didactic games
Patriotic education of preschool children
Getting to know your home, street, city, region, country begins in preschool age. In order for a child to become interested in the history of the city in which he lives, not only conversations are needed, but targeted walks and excursions. Preschoolers also love to play, so we will introduce children to the city, region and country through games. Now I will introduce you to the games that I use in my work.
Didactic game “Guests of the city”
To play you will need numbered postcards with a view of your city, a cube, and several cars. Progress of the game: The teacher suggests using a counting rhyme to choose a guide around the city. A child guide throws a dice and looks for the number on the dice on a postcard. The child’s task is to tell about the place depicted on the postcard as interestingly and accessiblely as possible; he chooses “transport” and goes on an excursion with the “guests” of the city.
Didactic game "Find a pair"
You will need calendars with a view of your city in duplicate. Progress of the game: Children are given cards with a view of your city or cities in your region. The children’s task is to find a mate as quickly as possible, tell them what kind of city, place or landmark is depicted on their cards.
Didactic game “Collect a picture”
You will need old unnecessary cubes, which can be found in any group, postcards with views of your city (2 copies). Having pasted over the cubes, you will see what a simple and interesting game you have created. For younger children, you should definitely use a sample; older preschoolers can do it on their own. The children's task is to collect a picture and tell what is depicted on it.
Didactic game “Coats of arms of the cities of your region”
Children get acquainted with the variety of coats of arms of your region, study their features, and learn to see differences. learn to see the relationship between the image and the name of the city.
Didactic game "Heraldry"
Goal: To introduce children of senior preschool age to heraldry, as the science of coats of arms, the distinctive sign of each city.
I drew the coats of arms of the cities included in the “Golden Ring” and made them like overlay pictures. Here's what I got. The children’s task is to collect a model of the coat of arms of a certain city, tell what it is called, and why it has such an image on the coat of arms. Having introduced children to their hometown and region, they can and should move on to studying their own country. The game “Collect the Flag” helps me with this
Goal: To teach children to distinguish the flag of their country from the flags of other countries, to tell children about the flag as one of the main and distinctive symbols of the country, to develop interest in the history of their country. To do this, I used colored cardboard, cut it into the necessary parts (parts of the flag, made small samples of the flags of some countries. The children’s task is to assemble the flag according to the sample, without confusing the color and correctly arranging the parts. Then I, together with the children, discuss which country’s flag each the child has collected, what color it is, what is depicted on it. Over time, all these games do not cause difficulties, children freely distinguish and name the country whose flag they have collected, they know the flag and coat of arms of our country well and can distinguish it from others. If such work will be carried out systematically, then the children will have very good knowledge of their native land
