DIY mushroom craft for the garden
Mushrooms are popular not only in children's creativity. Quite often, mushrooms are used as decorations for gardens and vegetable gardens. Mushrooms of various modifications can enliven a garden plot and add a touch of fun and coziness.
Mushrooms from plastic bottles
Like any crafts made from plastic bottles, mushrooms are made from containers of various diameters. A one and a half liter container is used for the mushroom stem. A five-liter container will fit on the cap. We cut off the upper, more oval part with scissors and melt the edge of the craft with a lighter.
The inside of the mushroom cap is painted with metal spray paint. You should do exactly the same with an improvised mushroom stem. It is also painted from the inside with paint from a can, but only white.
After all the parts of the mushroom from plastic bottles are ready, they need to be connected to each other. This can be done using a glue gun or a regular self-tapping screw. From the same plastic bottles you can cut out additional decor, such as leaves.
Leaves are cut out of the same plastic using scissors and the edges are melted with a lighter or a heated soldering iron. By painting them green, you can decorate the mushrooms themselves with them. This decor is installed under plantings in the garden. They perfectly enliven the landscape.
Foam mushrooms
Foam mushrooms are cut from a dried block of dried foam. To do this, you need to release the foam into a plastic bag, which will create the original shape.
And after the foam has dried well, the bag is removed. And they begin to cut out the mushroom itself. To do this, use a carpenter's knife and a device for grinding surfaces. You can use regular sandpaper.
After the mushroom is cut out, it must be painted with acrylic paints. After the paint has dried, the surface is treated with varnish. This will protect the craft from environmental influences.
Mushroom for garden decoration
Mushroom crafts for the garden can be made using polyurethane foam, plastic or cement, plaster. Depending on the material from which the mushroom will be made, the manufacturing technology is chosen.
For example, a mushroom made from cement mortar or gypsum requires the creation of a mold in which the cement mortar will be poured and dried. After the mushroom is completely dry in the mold, you need to shake it out of it and paint it with acrylic paints.
Mushroom applique
Another idea on how to make a mushroom craft with your own hands is to make an applique from the same plasticine or felt. To do this, a template is made from paper, according to which the applique details are cut out. The pattern of the parts can be found on the Internet or any ready-made template you like can be disassembled into parts.
After this, the parts are cut out from felt or plasticine rolled into a thin plate. The finished parts are glued onto the main canvas, tightly joining the individual parts so that there are no gaps left. Then the picture will be complete, and the finished application will become a wonderful gift or just an interior decoration.
Crafts on the theme of mushrooms are quite popular in kindergartens and primary school classes during labor training classes. Often children, under the guidance of educators and teachers, make such gifts to parents and older family members on various holidays.
Cartoon mushrooms
For those guys who cope with the task earlier than others, you can make it more difficult. Invite your child to make the mushroom a cartoon character, adding funny eyes and a tongue to the image.
